(1) Administraction

(2) National Hydrological Research and Planning Department

  • Develop the hydrographic envelopes of gauge stations on major rivers.


(3) Navigation Section

  • Introduction of lighted bouys for the stretch of Mandalay and Bagan.
  • Navigation aids for inland waterways.
  • Promulgation of navigation warning.
  • Publication of river routes.


(4) Surveying Section

  • Hydrographic survey works operations are done to support river engineering works, dredging works and navigation aids operation.

  • Surveying and technical suggestions for waterways of the cross river birdges.


(5) River Engineering Section

  • Implementation of navigation channels along the Ayeyarwady and Chindwin rivers according to master plan.
  • Implementation of bank protection works.
  • Improvement of Twantay canal.
  • Establishment of river ports.


(6) Dredging Section

  • Reclamation works.
  • Dredging works for the improvement of access channels.
  • Dredging works for the improvement of navigation channels and harbours.

Career

He joined Waterway Conservation Department as Assistant Engineer (from 1999 to 2004), Assistant Director (from 2004 to 2009), Deputy Director (from 2009 to 2015), Director (from 2015 to 2018), Deputy Director General (from 2018 to 18th April,2019). Acting Director General(from 2019 to 30th September,2021). Starting 1st October, 2021 he has been working as Director General.

River Engineering Section

    • Construction of river training structures to achieve adequate water depth

    • To utilize the river water for agriculture all the year round.

Dredging Section

    • Dredging in river constraints
    • Bend cutting for improvement of waterways and erosion protection

Navigation Section

    • Provision of navigation aids.
    • Promulgation of navigation warning
    • Snag removing
    • Monitoring and marking of approach channels for the cross river bridges according to seasonal changes.

Hydrological Research and Planning Department

  • Establish the data banks to support the river training works.
  • Predict the Least Available Depth along the inland rivers

  • Monitor the environmental impact by the changes of water quantity and quality
